UID 2002: Present owner not known

This Doretti is thought to be the works race car driven by Don Truman. Don who was born 21st February 1922, started motor racing in 1947. He raced on many of the circuits in England and Wales with varying success including winning the first race ever held at Oulton Park.

He began his racing career with a "Marwyn" and after this car had been written off by a friend, Don campaigned with a home built hybrid for four years without any success until he bought a Cooper, which won its first race at Ibsley in 1952. Don then raced fairly successfully with the Cooper, usually finishing in the top four.

During the 1954 season Don Truman is reported to have driven the Swallow Doretti, registration number 717 CRE, for the factory race team. Don also had a spell in France with a Cooper Jaguar (owned by Bertie Bradnack). In September 1959 Don retired from racing but maintained his involvement with the sport.
