During the course of 2006 the chassis has come together as the rebuilt front suspension, rear axle engine and gearbox were mounted. Some minor difficulties were experienced fitting the engine with mis-alignment of the front mounts being worse than originally suspected. However, using the rear mounts as the positioning guide and the slotting of some the holes at the front and a disproportionate amount of packing each side I am happy with the result and the engine is in the right place.
The photo on the right, is of the completed chassis on the trailer as it was taken into town to have the exhaust made and fitted and the initial wheel alignment done. In parallel to the chassis build-up I plumbed and wired the engine bay with the front body off the chassis, so the final fit up of the electrics and plumbing to get a mobile chassis was relatively quick.
On the left is a picture of the car taken during a small run done on the day it was started up for the first time.
