Swallow Doretti Owner's Visit to Le Mans   10th-11th July 2010

Next year will see the return of the famous Le Mans Classic weekend for the fifth and biggest event yet, with nearly 400 cars and 1000 drivers from 30 different countries competing. The bi-annual Le Mans Classic is much more laid back than the modern 24-hours Le Mans race and is an enthusiast’s dream with staggering grids of ex-Le Mans racers from between 1923 and 1979. The cars are divided into six groups based on their age with each group racing three times during a twenty-four hour period to ensure continuous action right through the night in the true spirit of Le Mans.

Roger Giles is organising a group of Swallow Dorettis to go to the 2010 Le Mans Classic event and would like to know if you are interested in joining us. E-mail correspondence with the organisers suggests that we will be given the same ‘pitch’, reserved exclusively for Swallow Doretti owners and their cars, within the Bugatti circuit as we had in 2008. This means if you take the opportunity to join us for the weekend your car will be parked within metres of the track with excellent viewing opportunities and only a few minutes walk from the paddock and the start/finish line. We also hope to secure the same hotel too, (basic but comfortable), which is within a 15- 20 minutes drive from the circuit. However, everyone is at liberty to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements should they prefer.

All that is needed for the moment is an indication as to the number of cars likely to attend in order to give the Le Mans Circuit organisers some idea of how large a group we will be. If you are interested in joining us in 2010, contact Roger Giles as soon as possible at E-mail: roger.giles@hotmail.co.uk or Tel: 01923-825-442.
