2. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE.
Apologies for absence were received from Mike Sloan North West Coordinator, Barry Lloyd group treasurer, Reg Salter and Brian Howatson.
3. GROUP LEADER/DEPUTY GROUP LEADER.
Alan Rushton and Selwyn Edwards were re-elected as Group Leader and Deputy Group leader respectively for the next twelve months.
4. GROUP LEADER’S REPORT.
The Group Leader reviewed the past year as follows:
At our April last year meeting we had twelve TRs in the car park on a beautiful sunny afternoon including some visitors from Red Rose and Shropshire groups.
The end of June saw our Wales weekend which last year was based at a very comfortable B&B near Llandrindod Wells. Despite the severe weather forecast five TR’s arrived on a sunny Friday afternoon determined not to be put off. The weekend was a great success even though it rained all day Saturday and Sunday.
In July Caroline and Patrick very kindly hosted a barbeque at their home in Henllan on what proved to be a glorious sunny afternoon and evening giving a good number of our members an opportunity of putting TS2 through its paces along the nearby country lanes. A great day was had by all.
The previous day had seen a total of seven TR6’s a TR4 and a Morris Minor 1500! attend the Caerwys Classic Car Show. We received third prize for ‘Best Car Club in Show’. Despite the ominous weather forecast there was an excellent turn out for the show and we were all rewarded by the rain holding off until mid afternoon making this a very enjoyable day.
The August bank holiday saw a number of our group attending the Oulton Park Gold Cup meeting.
Our meeting on the first Sunday in September was unfortunately not too well attended but we were very pleased to welcome the new North West Coordinator Mike Sloan and his wife who had driven up on the previous day and stayed at a B&B in Denbigh.
On the last Sunday of September Phil Griffiths and I met at Loton Park near Shrewsbury to support the TR Register sprint and hillclimb event.
Eight TR’s and a GT6 turned out for our October meeting of which six TR’s and a GT6 joined the convoy run to the Llangollen Motor museum.
Once again at our November meeting we had a good turn out of TRs, together with a GT6 and a very nicely restored Austin Healey 3000 courtesy of Roger Pierce who has taken the best part of 15 years to complete this car.
Last but not least was last Saturday’s belated Christmas meal at the Brookhouse Mill at which we had 21 members who I hope had a good evening.
5. GROUP TREASURER.
Barry Lloyd had stated that he wished to hand over the treasurer’s job to some one else. Group members placed on record their thanks to Barry for his work as Treasurer both for this group and the former TR Car Club over the past twenty years. His contribution was most appreciated.
Patrick Jelley was elected as the new Group Treasurer. Both Patrick and Selwyn Edwards were authorized as signatories for the bank account.
6. GROUP TREASURER’S REPORT.
In the absence of the retiring Treasurer the Group Leader reported that there was a total of £144.94 in group funds and that arrangements would be made for the bank account to be transferred to a branch in the Denbigh area.
7. VENUE FOR MEETINGS.
The group discussed whether to review the venue and times for meetings. It was agreed that members would give some thought to alternative venues and come up with suggestions. This could result in our visiting other premises in the area following some of our future meetings.
8. EVENTS PROGRAMME.
The group was invited to consider any additional events to those already included in the events programme for 2008. Volunteers were also invited to help organize any additional events.
Suggestions made at the meeting included:

(ix) It was also suggested that we meet up mid week on an occasional basis during the summer, if we have any fine weather.
9. GROUP BANNER AND REGALIA.
It was agreed to buy a TR Register banner with our logo on it for £45.00 which we can claim from funds. Ken Yankey would make further inquiries. This would be useful for the Caerwys car show and any other similar events. Ken has also got some regalia including polo shirts and sweat shirts for sale.
Ken will also get some windscreen stickers made. They typically sell at a pound a time but there may be a minimum order. Hopefully we will all buy some.
